SEBECCLY ABOUT TO BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORD; ATTEMPTS A 12000 HUMAN FORMED PINK RIBBON TO MARK WORLD CANCER DAY FOR 2015

With less than 20 days to go, Lagos is going to witness an unprecedented buzz of breast cancer awareness as Sebeccly Cancer Care wraps up plans to illuminate Lagos pink through the Light Lagos Pink™campaign hosted in partnership with the Lagos State Government.
This year’s campaign is the biggest breast cancer event which comprises a series of community events, social media drive, several buildings illuminating pink which will culminate to an attempt to break the Guinness world record tagged the #12KLLP on the 10th of October, 2015.The #12KLLP will feature over 12,000 people (men and women) wearing pink to form the largest human pink ribbon. Currently we have mobilized and registered over 6,000 individuals, 42 team captains, 23 volunteers and 10 corporate organizations: with growing support from the media, corporate organizations and Lagos state, the #12KLLP is strategically placed to break the current record that stands at 6,700. Our partners include Lagos  State Government, Nigerian Red Cross, National Youth Service Corps, Boys Brigade, First Bank, Bristow Helicopters, JNCI, Etisalat, Leadway Assurance,Dealdey.com, Bella Naija, Silver Bird Television, Rhythm FM, Soroptomist, Easy Taxi, Connect.com, Genevieve magazine, Adeedas foods, Tertiary and religious institutions.

We urge individuals and corporate organizations to come out and stand with us and 12,000 Nigerians to end breast cancer as we bring to light the plight of patients and the high cost of treatment and also raise funds to support treatment of cancer patients. If you have ever been affected by breast cancer, lost a dear one or know someone fighting breast cancer or you just want to support a good cause, the #12KLLP is a great way to help more patients survive breast cancer. The power of possibility is in you, and for you to locate or explore it , you must have discovered who you really are. A person might not know himself or herself, you might not know your capability of ability to make things happen.
I have the privilege of mingling with few friends who took the courage involving themselves in tasks they knew nothing about and they ended up being so successful at doing them. That made them surprised as they never believed they had such abilities and so they were like” I never knew I can do this or” was it me who did these things? So therefore, for you to be successful, you must first realize yourself, the CAN do spirit, your limit and how far you can go.

The question is:
Who do you think you are? The question sounds funny but I must tell you 80 percent of people I ask, couldn’t give an appropriate answer to it, and I am sure you do not have a convincing answer to this either. This is why I will be taking you through some assessment models which will make you check and ascertain the person in you and you will eventually be able to answer the question of Who do you think you are ?

Mass Weddingin Gombe as 3,000 Applicants awaits screening

3,000 candidates awaits screening on Tuesday which is to conducted by the Committee on Mass Wedding in Gombe, for the second batch program. Quoting the Nigerian Eye, this piece of information was disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Gombe, by Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar, the Publicity Secretary of the Committee and Senior District Head of Gombe. He said the committee, which had different sub-committees, was Instructed to screen applicants for pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis etc. Mr Abubakar who as well  applauded the state government for introducing the programme, which was proposed to help the less privileged in getting married.He also said, the programme will reduce the spread of HIV/AIDs in the state. Knowing that the committee had consulted traditional rulers and other stakeholders to ensure success of the exercise.According to him, application forms for the programme had been distributed to 11 local government areas of the state as it was done in the first batch of the initiative. He further said that applicants who are successful would be provided with dowry, foodstuff, clothing, furniture and kitchen utencils. According to report from NAN, '720 couples were married out across the state under the first batch of the programme in April. They include 612 Muslim divorcees (Zawarawa), 76 Muslim Spinsters and 32 non Muslims.We wish them conjugal bliss in their marriage and we hope they find peace in it .
