Appreciating The Place Of DrugsAnd Medical Procedures InHandling Of Illnesses.

I had to create this topic because of something that happened recently. Mr. Kunle, a man I know, contracted tuberculosis early this year. He died few days ago because he refused medical attention until when it became too late (as I later found out from one of his co-workers). Tuberculosis is treatable (the drugs are free) but when not properly handled through early diagnosis and drug therapy, it could lead to death. It is a disease that no one should die of if proper medical treatments are employed but Mr. Kunle died because he refused to go for treatment on time. This is one of many of such cases where people refuse medical treatment. The reason that most of them give (in the Nigerian society for instance) apart from the expenses involved is that they have 'faith' that the sickness will go away.
Some people discontinue their medication with the belief that a miracle will occur. No doubt, miracles do occur but one should not stop taking his medication because of that. My aunt has a heart disease and she is believing God for healing but that does not mean that she should stop taking her medication. Some people neglect symptoms of illness in their bodies and say 'nothing will happen' and they refuse to go for medical check-up. But before they know it, a lot has happened and they are down with a serious illness. Others tell themselves that they are now well even when the sickness is still evident.
There are people who have been placed on a diet because of an existing medical condition but they keep on eating what they should not eat hoping that 'nothing will happen'A lady had cancer but she kept having 'faith' that it would go away when she knew her faith wasn't strong. By strong faith I mean a strong conviction that circumstances will definitely change. She eventually had to go for chemotherapy but by that time, the cancer had already reached the metastatic stage where the treatment could hardly be of much help to her. She could have delayed the course of the disease and prolonged her life if she had sought for medical help on time.
Let me state clearly that I am not against relying on divine healing. What I'm saying is that God can use anything including drugs to bring your healing.

TOPIC;THE REDEMPTIVE NAMES OF GOD

MEMORY VERSE
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 READ Exodus 6:2-8
2 And God spake unto Moses, and
said unto him, I am the LORD:
3 And I appeared unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the
name of God Almighty, but by my
name JEHOVAH was I not known to
them.
4 And I have also established my
covenant with them, to give them
the land of Canaan, the land of
their pilgrimage, wherein they were
strangers.
5 And I have also heard the
groaning of the children of Israel,
whom the Egyptians keep in
bondage; and I have remembered
my covenant.
6 Wherefore say unto the children
of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will
bring you out from under the
burdens of the Egyptians, and I will
rid you out of their bondage, and I
will redeem you with a stretched
out arm, and with great judgments:
7 And I will take you to me for a
people, and I will be to you a God:
and ye shall know that I am the
LORD your God, which bringeth
you out from under the burdens of
the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you in unto the
land, concerning the which I did
swear to give it to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give
it you for an heritage: I am the
LORD.
MESSAGE
Our God is the only one that has the ability to save to the uttermost. He has many redemptive names which include: Jehovah El-Shaddai, Jehovah Rophekah, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom and
Jehovah Rohi. The name Jehovah El-Shaddai, reveals God as the Almighty; the all in all (Acts 17:28) . God is more than enough to nourish you, strengthen you and to supply all your needs (Philippians
4:19) . The name Jehovah Ropheka means the Lord our Healer. Christ is still in the business of healing His people today, because there is nothing like the age of miracles, rather we have the God of miracles. Are you in need of healing? Call on Jehovah Ropheka and you will be healed. Another redemptive name of God is Jehovah Nissi. This simply means the Lord our Victor. Our God is the One who can give us all- round success and victory over all circumstances. To really overcome
the world, the devil, sin and self, you must be born-again.It is when you are genuinely born-again that God will be in position to fight your battles for you. God is also the Jehovah Jireh. This redemptive name means the Lord will give or provide. God can still provide for all your needs today as He did in time past. All that He requires from you is faith. The Lord is also our Sanctifier – Jehovah Mekaddishkem. In these days of spiritual decadence and social degeneration, the need for believers to be sanctified cannot be over-emphasised. God is also Jehovah Shalom. He is the Lord our Peace. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, and it is only those who have surrendered their all to God that can experience peace indeed.
Are you born-again? Are you living in peace or tumult? Examine your life today. The last but not the least redemptive name is Jehovah Rohi. This name means the Lord my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1) . To yield
your life to God as your Shepherd, you will need to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. He will then become your
Shepherd and you will be His sheep. God knows His sheep, and His sheep know Him (John 10:14) . If you regard Jesus as your Shepherd, you will stop doing things without His express permission. It is then that you can enjoy the benefits due to a sheep (Psalm 23:1-6) . The Good Shepherd will ensure that there is no want in your life. He will protect you and guarantee your safety. He will bless you abundantly and you will obtain favour of God and men.
Are you born-again? If your answer is “no”, then you must become born-again, because God will not be your shepherd, heal you, give you peace of mind, provide for all your needs, give you victory over
all your enemies, nor guarantee your safety until you are born- again.
Bible in one year:
1 Kings 18:1-19:18
Proverbs 19:5-18
Action Point:
Spend quality time in prayer for
the mercy of God today. He is
ever merciful.

3 Mistakes Single Men Make when dating

Where are all the good women? This is a common question many single Christian men ask. Many are frustrated with being overlooked or the fact that they feel it has been too hard to find a “quality woman of God.” They hear a lot of women claiming greatness, but it isn’t lining up with what they experience. Are Christian women the problem, or are these single Christian men overlooking their behavior that has contributed to the issue? let’s examine the few mistakes single Christian men make with relationships.

1.Not Embracing Celibacy For Yourself
There are a lot of men who love God, but they still struggle with engaging in sexual activity. When a man has already experienced s*x in his life, it can become his weakness. Celibacy should be embraced more by single Christian men…but they don’t see the benefit of it. It just goes against what many feel is in their nature, and living in such a sexually charged society doesn't make it any easier. Yet ask any man who found the strength to do it, and most (if not all) can point to increased productivity, efficiency, and a decrease in drama. s*x is a huge distraction for men, and the inability to overcome it leads into many issues and the delay/blocking of many blessings.
2. Hiding Out In the Church
Attending church and praising God is a beautiful thing. Being open to meeting a potential mate in church
makes perfect sense. Using church as a shield because you don't want to put yourself out there and be vulnerable, can and will likely work against you. Many single Christian women use spending an excess amount of time in church as a cover-up to the fear that dwells within. Church is their wall of protection, but just like other walls in their life, it can still block their blessings.
3. Demanding sex
Not all single Christian women are celibate. Some may be having sex to reel a man in, and in her mind, hopefully keep him. Some may be celibate to make a man prove his worthiness. Either of those reasons(and I acknowledge other reasons exist) will typically backfire in her face. Sex won't give her the relationship she needs, and it falls outside of where God wants her focus. Not having sex should be about her as a woman, and the desire not to have her judgment clouded.....Not to get attached to the wrong man, and not to confuse desire with love.
Stay focused on what God desires and not how it can cause a man to stick around or to walk away.

Have you ever been challenged by temptation in your Christian life

Have you ever been challenged by temptations in your Christian life? 90% of the answers I can imagine are (YES)s . As followers of Christ , we are prone to temptations and trials .....cos Jesus never promised a stress free journey, he promised a safe landing.
Personal scenario of my trials:- there were times I asked for re-dedication into God's work and I just find myself going back to the sin(lies) I just asked forgiveness for. It's kinda frustrating to me, But people tend to take lies for a 'no big deal' normal smart act.Trials knock at our heart and surround us. Temptations set in,hoping feel the pressure. Tough times come right after a moment of joy or small victory.
We toss and turn at night, wondering how these things work their way into our thoughts, into our dreams. It starts to feel like were in a batting cage struggling to hit the balls being fired at us. It gets exhausting. I am writing this post because I know its gonna touch someone out there who is presently in the same shoes I was back then. I have come to realize that one can find comfort and restoration in the word of God (Holy Bible),which is the paramount means  to counter every temptations and trial one might be facing. Below are few tips to be considered when dealing with issues concerning re-occurrence of unconscious sinful act:-
1. Keeping Faith in Hard Times
Going by faith or, really living by faith is about the free-will choice to trust God and choose His way over our own.
2.Stay Strong in the Word
Even and maybe even especially when we most desire to have a mind like Christ and live God’s way, battles attempt to set up camp in our heart.
In this same week, the Bible Verse of the Day dealt with keeping faith in tough times. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1Corinthians 10:13). Finally, let us be be aware that sin can come from sense we've got within us which we can learn to harness . Where thoughts originate So, what triggers negative thought patterns? The Lord has given us physical senses so we can interact with each other and our world. The capacity to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell is an amazing gift from God, which affects how our thoughts develop and what we think.
However, because we are continually being influenced by the fallen world around us, we don't always use these abilities in a way that honors Him. We experience a sight, sound, smell, flavor, or touch that gives us momentary pleasure and we begin to think.

on me We're in Your presence,
let it rain
Oh, Your rain, let it fall
on me We're in Your presence,
let it rain
Oh, Your rain, let it fall
on me Open the floodgates in
abundance and cause
Your rain to fall on me
(2x) Baba, we're in Your
presence, let it rain
pour Your rain, let it
fall on me We're in Your presence,
let it rain
Oh, Your rain, let it fall
on me Open the floodgates in
abundance and cause
Your rain to fall on me
Baba, open the
floodgates in abundance
and cause Your rain to fall on me
Baba o! Baba o! Baba o!
Baba o! (loop) Send you refreshing
rain
Let it pour on us,
overflow on us
Hear our cry oh God
Let it rain (4x)
Let it rain, let it rain, Baba o! Baba o!
Baba o! Everybody say Yeah, Yeah
We're running dry, Oh
God (2x)
Send the revival
Send the rain oh God.

Why God allows suffering...

Very quickly lets go through 10 reasons God allows suffering in the world. Many might say God is unfair for allowing sicknesses and Death or even hard labour, bit i dont think so.while we may not be satisfied with what God has revealed about his purposes in suffering, we cannot justifiably say he has not revealed anything about his purposes in suffering. We may not have the answer we are laboring for,but we do have a wealth of answers that lie in the same field.
Here is an outline of ten reasons he identifies in God's Word:
1. To remind us that the world is broken and groans for redemption [ Rom. 8:20-23 ].
2. To do justice in response to Adam's (and our) sin.
3. To remind us of the severity of the impact of Adam's (and our)sin.
4. To keep us dependent on God[Heb. 12:6-7 ].
5. So that we will long more for heaven and less for the world.
6. To make us more like Christ,the suffering servant [Rom.8:29; 2 Cor. 1:5 , 4:11 ].
7. To awaken the lost to their need for God [ Ps. 119:67 , 71].
8. To make the bliss of heaven more sweet [Rom. 8:18 ; 1 Pet.4:13; Ps. 126:5; Isa. 61:3 ].
9. So that Christ will get the glory in being our strength [ John 9:3;2 Cor. 4:7].
10. And so that, thereby, others see that he is our treasure, and not ourselves [2 Cor. 4:8-9 ]Have you read through, do not be discourage for we are only here(on earth) to buy , heaven is our home.
